Crap Website

I found a crap website at this url. Here
This is crap because it has an annoying noise.. i mean voice in the background looping. The background has an annoying image tiled accross it and the text is a yukky greeny blue. This makes it hard to read. The images are of crap quality and are of ugly things, they should have only put good images on.

Exclamation Marks!

Today I shall write about stuff. This includes schooling etc, and the removal of annoying exclamation marks. Exclamation marks are annoying and I agree as they are almost more annoying then comic sans ms, which I also hate after year8 of high school. So now that I am way over these annoying fonts etc etc we can now have an awesome web blog.

Thursdays

Today is another one of those days that everyone has a hang over. HaHaHa. I love to drink but I do not suffer from hang overs because of my liver of steel. Anyway it is another beautiful day and the birds are tweeting and multimedia is on today (my favourite class of the week). Breakfast is always good on a Thursday because you get mince meat which you can make mini Shepards pies out of the hash browns. Yum Yum. Here is a recipe for it on Google.. well the about website: Yummy

Hot Chocolate

Hot Chocolate

Today I found out why the coffee machine in the dinning hall doesn’t have chocolate in it. It was because one of the ladies was refilling it and spilt it all over her self and the floor. One of the ladies came out and said it smells like chocolate as the cloud of chocolate was settling. They then cleaned it up and put it in a plastic container in the oven but then forgot about the plastic container so it melted. That was the end of hot chocolate in the coffee machine.

My Jukebox

My Jukebox served me well again this weekend. It was my year 12 project and has been a good money maker since. It is basically a pc in a solid box with a simple user interface that I made attached. It took quite a while to program, build and modify the computer, not only to fit in but also so that I could connect the arcade buttons to control the software. It looks good and receives a lot of positive comments. Everyone is jealous because I have a jukebox in my room and they don’t. The only downside with it is that it ways a solid 88kg which is normal for a jukebox but its super heavy for one man to move. www.dabeatbox.net

Part 2 My Mac Mini

Today we went to the Mac shop! It was cool. There are some cool computers there but also some really ugly ones. I want a mac mini as they are small and good for putting on your desk. I reckon it would be a good idea to use a mac because they are what we use in class and my cousin who also does web design as a job now as well as designing ads etc says she uses a mac and they are very popular in the industry. So maybe one day when I got some spare money I will buy one.. Preferably a mac mini.

Hmmmm

Since today is my day off and I am not going back to Canberra I have decided to do a blog entry on staying here. Yes it is fun. I think I might think of something today and write about it later.

No Hangover for Me

Today I am in a Jolly good mood as I do not have a nag over as always and everyone else does. Its always funny to go to breakfast on a Thursday morning, get your 2 hash browns and mince meat for the middle and watch everyone come in all dreary and whoopee. Everyone seems to be getting sick all the time which is not much fun and I hope I dont get sick.. or else. One thing I have thought about is how boring it is to write one of these EVERY day. Maybe once a week wouldnt be too bad... I think they are boring to read, I have a weird friend who loves to read them, she is strange. Maybe if you were the Queen or something and could write about your bubble bath, followed by your morning tea, and how something or other was out of place or just not quite right. Then maybe I would read it.. or not. However, this is only my view and Im sure some people get a lot of enjoyment out of them.

DJing

Djing is a lot of fun. I do it quite often as a business. At the moment I am only going back to Canberra once a fortnight to do my gigs, however in the holidays (when I’m back home anyway) I will be booked up fully. It is very good pay and a lot of good fun. The only real risks involved are:

  1. Not getting gigs, ie no money
  2. Climbing Ladders
  3. Hurting your back

I do many schools in Canberra now, these include Canberra Grammar School (boys and girls), Narrabundah College, Canberra College, Farrer Primary School and St Clares. I do corporate companies such as the Tuggeranong Hyperdome Shopping Centre, Southern Cross Club and Large Outdoor gigs. I also do many clubs, bars and pubs in Canberra.

I am not only limited to djing, I run and own a full hire company, stocking professional audio equipment, staging equipment, lighting, sound, smoke machines, strobes etc. I do event management and organizing and am able to cater for just about any event including many small to medium large outdoor concerts.

Out of all my years of doing this style of work I love it a lot and grow to love it more every day. I deal with many people and enjoy the role of satisfying crowds to up to 1500 people. I have been doing discos in a paid sense for 8 years, but have been tinkering around with this style of thing for 12 years. I am only 18 years of age but am able to put on a good show.

Music

I like music. I like it a lot. I like it soo much I use it as a business! But apart from me doing this, music is a good form of multimedia in many aspects. The way it is sometimes made is through the form of multimedia, the way it is recorded now days is also a form of multimedia. This is a scary fact, multimedia is taking over. We can’t do much without it. Any digital recording that we do, which we like to do because it is a better format is all to do with multimedia.

When we want to put on our favourite cd we must think of multimedia. Or not.. but we do use multimedia as part of this because it is the way of the world. That is all I have to say on music multimedia apart form the fact that it is helpful when presenting a topic as it re-enforces the topic and keeps the audience’s attention better.

My blog needs to be made to look better as it is very bland at the moment like every other subject is apart from multimedia. Through the use of fireworks and some basic html editing it will be improvable.

Hyperlinks!

Hyperlinks!
Hyperlinks are cool! They are very useful in multimedia and play a very large part in it. Without hyperlinks the information presented would be very fixed.

Google
Google Search on Multimedia
DJDAN
It can be used to link to other forms of multimedia or web Blogs such as www.whatisVisualStoryTelling.blogspot.com
In this respect they are very versatile and help with the presentation of multimedia. I like them because they are the lazy way out of surfing the internet. They allow you to be able to get around much easier then having to type in the addresses into the address bar on the computer.

I plan to fill this blog with as many as possible to prove my point on how handy dandy they are!

Yahoo.com
msn.com
Gmail.com
Definition on Multimedia?
Email Me!!
That’s very likely enough, but it proves my point! Especially since it takes forever to type them in the html!

CSS

Cascading Style Sheets
Cascading Style Sheets are a really good way for formatting the way your whole site looks from one place. That means that if you wanted to make the background blue on all the pages you could quite easily do it without having to go through each page. The other cool thing you can do is to change the table background colour for all tables on your website. I like cascading style sheets.. but that sounds sick so I wont say it or mean or imply it, however they are good.

I only got introduced to them a few years ago, but when I did I thought they were very good. This was in my multimedia class in College, where we were taught they they are every good for multimedia purposes. They didn’t explain fully why, however after starting this course I can see why. Once I come up with a good look, I will make a css file to make my Blog look good.

Resizing images

Resizing images!

I got this image off a google search. Its of a beautiful Mirage, which is very close to mine except mines bluey purple and is a much newer model.

The image here has been shrunk using html.

The image has been shrunk again and a border added.

This shows html is even able to format what pictures look like. Only downside is that the rendering of the shrunken image is not as good.

More and More HTML

More and More HTML
Even though this Blog’s title says more and more html, its not entirely on html. It is more focused on the designing aspects of html. You can pull some pretty good things from html for multimedia. You can animate images, buttons, make them move, position them wherever you want through use of a layer. This is handy for doing final design aspects as it is one of the only elements in the browser that you can drag and drop anywhere without need of using tables to position etc. This is really the last point I had to say on HTML as the rest is fairly obvious and well covered from before.

An item that must be well integrated however is the visual images. You can do basic vector drawing in html, but you can have more of a creative handle by crating images in such programs as Adobe Photoshop and Fireworks. When used with the right format, a webpage is fun to look at but also fast to surf as I know I hat slow pages with large images that chew up all of your little internet credit!

So where am I heading!?! Well even I don’t know! But I do know I like these creative sides of things. I don’t really like programming; however I don’t mind the web aspect of programming for web pages. This includes web streaming and visual layout and design. What I like about this is that you can listen to the radio in the background whilst you type out your thoughts! I could imagine one day I would probably get into this style of job. But html has much potential as I’ve said before, even for bit companies like Google, EBay, Hotmail etc! (I also like to use exclamation Marks!)

More HTML

More HTML
HTML is cool. I like it and have liked it for quite a while now. I use it all the time to help update my web page. It is a concrete rule that websites should be forever changing as they need to be attracting interest and be updated as to not be telling old information.

My Web Page ~ http://www.netspeed.com.au/charlesm

HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. It is a language that can be read by any internet browser in the world hence why it is very structured and well formatted. It is a good use of multimedia as it is very versatile and can be made to do many things.

As can be seen by yesterday’s entry, HTML can be used for positioning elements on a page including text, visual, and images. It has been developed so far in so few years. The internet used to be a real crapper for trying to surf as it was slow and pages werent well formatted. Now days the web is very well designed on many pages, and super fast to surf. The web is a good medium for gaining information from multiple sources very fast. Unlike a book where you have to look through indexes etc, you can go a quick google search on something and up comes 522,000,000 results. Obviously there is very likely a lot of crap on there, but with a bit of proper research, a good definition would be comprehended.

HTML is very good and is very likely a good lead for the future. It is rather powerful for the text form it is and is able to cover many different types of multimedia. These include, flash, jpeg, gif, bmp, png, tiff, wav, mp3, mp4, mpeg etc. With all these sorts of mediums covered, it is a very versatile way of presenting all of them together.

HTML is definitely the way to go when presenting web pages or any medium as it is so standard across a worldwide scale.

HTML Creation

Table and Html Creatin Is Cool!
HTML is YAY! I have decided to put this into a table to prove my point.
The Table is split up as to show the way elements can be positioned around the page.

Web Blogs!

I never actually realised that web Blogging entries worked in reverse order, (ie newer entries first). I can understand why, because you could imagine after years and years and years of entries your going to have thousands of entries and it would be annoying to have to always go to the last page.

I was thinking last night, that web Blogs are actually multimedia playing part on diary entries. It is a better form of a diary as it can be made interactive but also very colourful, and as I was saying before with multimedia, you can express the mood you are in quite easily by colours, size and images. In that respect they are a good idea, however if the user got too carried away they may never return!

One thing that I have noticed with other peoples web Blogs (and I’m sure mine is not perfect), but all the poor grammar, spelling and abreiviations is really annoying!!!! I guess you get used to it and it is faster to type and put more information into your blog, however it disobeys the principals of web pages.

Web pages need Form, Content and Function. The Form is the aesthetics of the page, the Content is the quantity and the function is the purpose it serves. HTML is rather easy to develop the basic ideas, as to change colour or text, background, borders etc. It is very flexible and is of great benefit for web Bogs. This creative aspect makes web pages and web Blogs a much more attractive thing to read. When we were first told to do SIMPLEII, I was a bit worried as I thought it would look like shit! But now that I have been informed we can use tables etc etc, I am happy as I can get to work and make it look beautiful or aesthetically pleasing!~

So I best get to work and make this Blog look good!

It is the FUTURE

Its the FUTURE
It finally struck me that I should look up multimedia on the internet. So I did…

The first answer that came up was that multimedia is:
Used essentially to define applications and technologies that manipulate text,
data, images, voice and full motion video objects.
(
www.orafaq.com/glossary/faqglosm.htm)
This just re-enforces my argument on some of the basic ideas multimedia covers. But of course as we all know, this is only our opinion. Blogs are very good for expressing opinions and once you’ve clamped down on the idea, you get a good sense of definition.

Web Blogs is another form of multimedia. It allows us to express ourselves in a technical way. We are able to put in images, movies, sounds and text of thoughts and information, but are also able to change colours and sizes of text and backgrounds according to our feelings. This way, we can be the most expressive possible, in a digital multimedia way.

Being that this is my first time in using web Blogs, it is a rather new experience. It is interesting to see how people use Bloggers to express themselves online. It could also be thought as a good form of therapy as people would be able to get their thoughts out of their head and leave them a bit more stress free. This is just another thing that multimedia is, the more we use it, the more it dominates our lives.

Since we are able to control multimedia so well, we can really express our feelings in a textual structure. This could be applied to chat rooms, as people can change their font to the mood they are in. This is the only way to change your expression in text, as it is very hard in plain text to display your feelings. You could say your very mad; that makes the reader think that you are mad at something, but if you said, “I’M VERY MAD”, your message would be portrayed better.

This is just some more ways multimedia can be presented. PEACE

I Dream of Multimedia!

Multimedia is What?
I went to bed last night thinking of how multimedia can be done. It was incredible to think it can be done in almost any way and is only limited by your imagination. The more thought you put into it the more results you get out of it.

This period of sleep I had was a very unrestful one as I was trying to think exactly what ways multimedia can be done. Some of the ways I thought were of course audio, video, images, interactivity etc, but I also thought of some things like feel and touch as a form of multimedia to present a certain topic. This idea sounds way off topic, but if it was used in the right way it would be very good for an interactive form of multimedia.

** Then a thought occurred! **

If Multimedia is so versatile, why doesn’t everyone in the University learn it! Multi media can be used in all forms and in all fields. It can be used to teach kids in primary school, it can be used to show the body structure and/or damage for radiography. It can be used of course in television production, but could also be used in drama to set the scene even better. Multimedia is a very versatile medium and can be used in oodles of ways.

If we didn’t have multimedia things would be very boring. Multimedia is able to bring things to life and grab our attention. A place that could use multimedia to grab people’s attention would be on a shop front. A fancy shop sign is good, but if a shop had a fancy plasma screen with a good interactive multimedia presentation, could mean that the shop’s gross intake could sky rocket! This is just another thing that multimedia can be used in.

Multimedia is a very versatile medium. It is only limited by the imagination of the user, and has many different possibilities of how it can be presented. Multimedia is definitely the way of the future and is almost becoming a necessity for informative presentations or stylish design.
